Quality Mark
The Quality Mark was launched in July 2002, as a joint initiative between the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). The Primary aim of Quality Mark is to ensure that Supply Teaching agencies operate to the highest professional standards at all times. Areas of particular emphasis are the way in which they recruit, interview, check, manage and support the performance and professional development of their Supply Teachers, It is also crucial that they stay at the forefront of changes in the teaching sector. Due to the nature of the award and its inherent difficulty to obtain, there are very few agencies that meet the stringent standards necessary to qualify for this award.
Quality mark provides official recognition that the highest standards of recruitment practice are being adhered to; our staff can be confident that they have selected an accredited and reputable agency that will add value to their experience as a professional supply teacher.
First for Education was required to submit detailed evidence to show they are able to meet the required standards by means of a policy document, internal processes and procedures and documentation in support of these processes.
To ensure compliance with each standard there is a rigorous inspection process in place, including an audit, supported by detailed exception reporting. The Quality Mark Team at REC required a high level of detail and understanding of our operation in order to be sufficiently certain that the written evidence that has been provided is compliant with the required standards.
First for Education was rightly proud, on 24 June 2009, to be awarded the Quality mark, with the following comments in our award Letter “First for Education is a credit to the reputation of the industry”
