SEND Teaching Assistant

First For Education is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Teaching Assistants to support pupils and teachers in primary and secondary schools across Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to make a real difference in children’s learning and development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support classroom teachers in delivering lessons, help children achieve their potential, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You may work with individuals, small groups, or support pupils with additional learning needs.

This role is ideal for experienced TAs, graduates looking to enter education, or anyone passionate about supporting young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons

• Assist pupils individually or in small groups

• Help with classroom management and behaviour support

• Aid with assessments and progress tracking

• Encourage pupil participation and engagement

• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Patience, adaptability, and a caring attitude

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

• A positive, reliable, and professional approach
