First For Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities in schools across Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about making a difference in children’s learning and development.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to deliver personalised interventions and create an inclusive learning environment.
This role is ideal for experienced SEND TAs, graduates seeking SEND experience, or anyone committed to supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Support pupils with additional learning needs in class and in small groups
Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and interventions
Help develop pupils’ social, emotional, and academic skills
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress
Promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures at all times
Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or educational setting
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
A caring, reliable, and professional approach
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable)
