First for Education are seeking a committed and passionate English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham from January 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across English Language and English Literature at KS3 and KS4. The school has a strong reputation for high standards, supportive leadership and a forward-thinking English department that shares resources and works collaboratively.
Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3–KS4
Planning and delivering creative, well-structured lessons
Marking, assessing and tracking pupil progress
Maintaining confident behaviour management
Creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Contributing to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Strong English curriculum knowledge
Recent experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
Confident behaviour management
A proactive, organised and professional teaching approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
