Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Salary: £150 – £280 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term
Start Date: January 2026


Inspire Confidence and Progress Through English

First for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-led secondary school in Erdington, who are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join their team from January 2026.

This role is suitable for a teacher who is confident delivering English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for engaging learners of all abilities.


The Role

  • Teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4

  • Planning engaging, structured lessons aligned with the curriculum

  • Assessing, marking and tracking pupil progress

  • Maintaining a positive and focused learning environment

  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies

  • Working collaboratively within a supportive English department


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Recent UK secondary school teaching experience

  • Strong subject knowledge in English

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management

  • Professional, reliable and committed approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
