First for Education is working with excellent secondary schools in Birmingham seeking an experienced Science Technician to support their Science departments.
Please note: This role requires previous experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school. Unfortunately, applications without this experience cannot be considered.
Prepare and set up materials, chemicals, and equipment for practical science lessons
Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH and school policies
Maintain laboratory equipment, order stock, and keep records of supplies
Support teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
Assist with health and safety checks and risk assessments
Help maintain a clean, well-organised and safe learning environment for students
Competitive daily pay: £90 – £120 depending on experience

Proven experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school setting
Strong understanding of science practical requirements (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Knowledge of health and safety requirements including COSHH regulations
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
