First for Education are recruiting an experienced and inspiring Qualified Maths Teacher to join a successful and supportive secondary school in Handsworth, starting January 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high-quality Maths teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience. Strong behaviour management and curriculum knowledge are essential for this role.
As a Maths Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Use creative and effective teaching strategies to support pupil progress
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom presence
Differentiate learning to support SEND, EAL and mixed-ability learners
Track progress, assess performance and provide timely intervention
Contribute to department planning and wider school improvement
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Maths in UK schools
Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
A passion for raising attainment and developing pupil confidence
A proactive, resilient and professional approach
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
