First for Education are recruiting for compassionate and resilient Pastoral Behaviour Mentors to work in our partner secondary schools across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to help shape the lives of young people by supporting their emotional wellbeing, managing behaviour, and encouraging positive engagement with learning.
As a Pastoral Behaviour Mentor, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Help implement behaviour intervention strategies and restorative approaches
Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to promote positive behaviour and attendance
Support pupils in developing resilience, confidence, and coping strategies
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Experience working with young people with social, emotional, or behavioural needs (school, PRU, or youth work experience desirable)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively
A positive, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Competitive daily pay (£90 – £130)
