First for Education are seeking a confident and experienced School Administrator to support a busy and welcoming secondary school in Birmingham, starting December 2025.
This role is ideal for applicants with strong administrative experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in an education-based environment. Previous experience working in a school office or front-of-house education role is highly desirable.
As a School Administrator, you will:
Handle front office reception duties including calls, emails, and visitor management
Maintain and update school records using MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, or similar)
Assist with pupil attendance, admissions, and general data management
Support staff with timetable administration, letters, and reports
Liaise with parents, teachers, and external agencies professionally
Help with general office duties, safeguarding protocols, and confidentiality
Experience in school administration (essential for this role)
Strong organisational and IT skills — familiarity with SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom desirable
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
A positive, proactive, and supportive approach to working as part of a school team
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
