First For Education (FFE) are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools across Gloucester. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to thrive both academically and emotionally.
To be considered for this role you must have relevant experience.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant with First For Education, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a variety of SEND needs (e.g. ADHD, ASD, SEMH, speech & language, learning difficulties)
Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet pupil needs
Implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships
Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers and outside agencies when required
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or transferable)
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and use positive behaviour strategies
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one)
