A local agency with local teachers and knowledge
First for Education is a specialist teaching agency that supplies fully qualified teachers, NQT’s, FE Qualified and Teaching Assistants to primary and secondary schools covering all different subjects.
We work with Hundreds of schools, colleges and nurseries throughout the Midlands, and can offer the following types of work:
Day to day coverage
Long-term supply assignments
Our aim is that you find working with us as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, we are happy to assist you in any way we can, from guiding you to a new school to helping you bond with an unfamiliar group of pupils. Our role is to make working as a supply teacher a practical form of employment. That is why we place the emphasis on:
Accurately matching teacher’s skills to a schools needs.
Providing assistance with lesson planning.
Providing support for our teachers both inside and outside the classroom.
We operate a fully flexible approach to your working timetable in order for you to fit work in around your lifestyle/commitments; you are free to choose whether you want to work 1 or 5 days a week.
Wherever practical, we attempt to keep your commuting distance as small as possible. We aim to regularly place you in schools within a 3 mile radius of your home, but never further than 10.
Teachers also require accurate and regular payment. This is why First for Education pays weekly, (providing all timesheets are completed on time).
We rely on word of mouth to attract the best staff and as a result we have a number of initiatives that reward existing teachers that recommend us to their colleagues in the field, ask your consultant about our Referral bonuses.
Training and CPD
At First for Education we invest heavily in your development. We employ a full time trainer to take care of your CPD and in the case of Cover Supervisors we provide a structured initial training course to make their transition into teaching as easy as possible. We encourage all of our staff to make us aware of any training needs they may have so we can tailor a training course to address them.
As a supply teacher you may be placed in bookings at very short notice and in some instances you may also be required to bring work with you. This in some cases can be difficult if you are unfamiliar with the school or working with an age group that you have less experience with.
To enable you to access relevant material quickly and easily, First for Education have collated a large selection of resources including lesson plans and worksheets which can be sent by post or supplied at interview.
