D.T Technician

First For Education are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Design & Technology Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in the Bridgnorth area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a thriving DT department and play a key role in helping students succeed in practical learning environments.

This role is for 5 days a week and a ASAP start, experience is essential.

As a DT Technician, you will provide essential technical and practical support to the Design & Technology department. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons run smoothly, equipment is prepared and maintained, and health & safety standards are upheld at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons

• Maintaining machinery, tools and workshop spaces

• Supporting teachers and students during practical sessions

• Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies where required

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working within a school DT department or workshop environment

• Knowledge of woodwork, metalwork or resistant materials (desirable)

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Awareness of health & safety procedures within a workshop setting

• A proactive and flexible approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
