Job title: Learning Support Assistant
First for Education is seeking a proactive and supportive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant Alternative Provision school in Telford, supporting pupils to engage with learning and reach their potential.
This is a full-time long-term position, working closely with teaching staff to provide classroom support across a range of abilities, needs and challenging behaviours.
The school has a collaborative staff team that want to support their pupils to embrace and find the joy of learning allowing them to embrace their future and achieve their potential.
 
Learning Support Assistant benefits

Learning Support Assistant role requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
  • Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs with challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, proactive and supportive approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

 
The successful Learning Support Assistant will:

• Carry out 1:1 and small group support
  • Support the learning objectives of pupils
  • Carry out directed support identified by the class teacher
  • Support pupils with communication, behaviour and engagement
  • Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and wider support staff
