Primary Teaching Assistant

First for Educationis seeking a proactive and supportive Primary Teaching Assistant to join welcoming primary schools across Halesowen, supporting pupils across the classroom to help them engage with learning. 

There are full time and part time positions with immediate starts, working closely with the class teacher to support pupils across, Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2). 
The schools have a strong focus on inclusive learning and pupil development, with a supportive staff team and a positive learning environment, making it an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a school setting.

Primary Teaching Assistant role requirements: 

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
  • Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
  • Understanding of the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 or KS2) 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • A patient, proactive and supportive approach 
  • Ability to work as part of a team 
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing 
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply 

 
The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will: 

• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Encourage pupil engagement and participation 
  • Support behaviour management using positive strategies 
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment 
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
