Attendance Officer

First for Education are recruiting on behalf of a thriving secondary school in Birmingham (B42 Area) for an Attendance Officer to join their expanding pastoral team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting young people and their families. Working closely with safeguarding and pastoral leaders, you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance, supporting student wellbeing, and helping pupils develop positive habits that enable them to succeed.

The Role As an Attendance Officer, you will:

• Monitor and promote student attendance and punctuality
• Work directly with students and families to improve attendance outcomes
• Support pastoral provision and early intervention strategies
• Contribute to safeguarding, behaviour, and welfare processes
• Maintain accurate records and attendance data
• Liaise effectively with parents, carers, staff, and external agencies where required

The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who:

• Is self-motivated, organised, and compassionate
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can build positive relationships with students and families
• Has strong administrative and record-keeping skills
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and student welfare
• Has experience working within an education, pastoral, attendance, or support-based role (desirable)
