First for Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced school in Birmingham. Whether you specialise in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or are confident across all disciplines, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Promote scientific thinking and practical investigation
  • Plan differentiated lessons to support learners of all abilities
  • Assess and track student progress in line with school and national standards
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider Science department and whole-school life
  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and behaviour policies

What We’re Looking For:

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Recent experience teaching Science in a UK secondary setting
  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  • A passion for education and commitment to student progress
  • Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Two relevant and recent references

Location Flexibility:

This role is based in Birmingham, but we also work with schools in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall, and Wolverhampton. If this opportunity isn’t the right fit, we’ll help find one that suits you.
