Salary: £13 – £16 per hour (depending on experience)

Make a Difference in School Attendance and Pupil Support

First for Education are recruiting an experienced School Attendance Administrator to join a busy and welcoming secondary school in Alum Rock Birmingham starting November 2025.

This role is essential in helping the school maintain accurate attendance records, monitor pupil data, and support strategies to improve overall attendance. To be considered, previous attendance administration experience in a school setting is required.

Key Responsibilities

As a School Attendance Administrator, you will:

• Manage pupil attendance data using SIMS or other school MIS systems

• Track authorised and unauthorised absences in line with school policies

• Follow up on attendance concerns with parents and carers via phone and email

• Produce attendance reports for senior leaders, SLT, and safeguarding teams

• Support initiatives to improve punctuality, attendance, and engagement

• Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding, and admin teams

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working in a school attendance or admin role – essential

• Knowledge of attendance codes and Department for Education (DfE) guidelines

• Strong data entry and IT skills, ideally with SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom

• Excellent communication, organisation, and professionalism

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
