First for Education are recruiting a passionate and skilled Qualified English Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Bordesley Green, starting November 2025.
This role is ideal for an English specialist who can deliver engaging and effective lessons in both English Language and English Literature, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, progress, and classroom engagement.
As an English Teacher, you will:
Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Plan and deliver lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills
Support pupils in achieving strong GCSE outcomes through targeted strategies
Maintain excellent behaviour management and classroom routines
Differentiate lessons to support SEND and EAL learners
Track and monitor pupil progress to ensure continued academic development
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Experience teaching English Language and Literature in a UK secondary school
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities
A passion for inspiring students through English and literature
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
