SEN Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking school community in Shrewsbury. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role

As our SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties

  • Develop and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCO, parents, and external agencies

  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure positive outcomes

  • Create a safe, structured and engaging classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs

  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education

  • Experience with structured interventions and behaviour support strategies (desirable)
