🕒 Term-Time Only
📅 Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a different kind of classroom experience?

We are currently working with a specialist setting that supports pupils who have been referred from mainstream education. This includes Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Alternative Provisions (APs), where young people benefit from smaller groups, tailored support, and a more therapeutic approach to learning.

We are looking for a reliable and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of these settings in September.

The Role:

This is a hands-on, active support role where every day will look a little different. You’ll work closely with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, low engagement, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Your job is to:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships
  • Help keep pupils focused and calm during lessons
  • Support behaviour management plans
  • Encourage self-esteem and emotional resilience
  • Promote consistent routines and a safe learning environment

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs or behavioural challenges
  • A calm, patient and confident approach
  • A genuine interest in making a difference to young lives
  • Ability to remain consistent and firm, yet caring
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Backgrounds That Work Well:

Teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, care workers, psychology students/graduates, or anyone with strong behaviour support experience.

Why Choose FFE?

  • Experts in the SEN, PRU and AP space
  • Friendly, experienced consultants who listen
  • Local roles that match your experience
  • Ongoing support and development opportunities

For more details, please feel free to contact me directly at vanshika.chadha@firstforeducation.co.uk or by phone on 0121 285 4840 . I would be happy to discuss other suitable opportunities as well and how we can support your next steps.

Apply now to be part of a school where every child is understood, supported, and celebrated. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
