Step into the Classroom – Flexible Cover Supervisor Work in Sutton Coldfield

First for Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in Sutton Coldfield. This role is ideal for graduates, teaching assistants, youth workers, or anyone considering a future career in teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-set lessons and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged in the absence of the class teacher. No planning or marking is required – just excellent classroom management and a professional attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classroom behaviour during teacher absence
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
  • Ensure a calm, productive learning environment
  • Support students in completing set work to a high standard
  • Report back on classroom activity and pupil conduct

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience working with young people in any setting (e.g., education, coaching, youth work)
  • Confidence managing a classroom and delivering instructions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Two recent, relevant references
