Specialist SEND Provision

Location: Birmingham
Start Date: September 
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently working in partnership with a forward-thinking and supportive SEND school in Birmingham that caters for pupils with Autism, SEMH, and complex learning needs. The school is seeking an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to join their team and support students in re-engaging with learning through creative and personalised approaches.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for inclusive education and a commitment to making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and/or KS4

  • Differentiate content to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets

  • Promote literacy, communication, and self-expression through innovative teaching strategies

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and therapeutic professionals

  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching English, ideally within a SEND or alternative provision setting

  • A trauma-informed, nurturing approach to behaviour and learning

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage a diverse cohort

  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential
