Salary: £150 – £250 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

First for Education is seeking experienced, enthusiastic English Teachers for schools across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. We have a range of full-time, part-time, long-term and supply opportunities, so you can find work that suits your goals and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 if applicable)
  • Inspire students to develop reading, writing, analytical and communication skills
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour management

What We’re Looking For:

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Recent experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
  • Excellent subject knowledge of both Language and Literature
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, student-centred teaching
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two recent, relevant references
