First for Education are recruiting a dedicated and experienced Head of Geography to join a well-regarded secondary school in Rubery. This part-time role (3 days per week) will run from January 2026 to March 2026, providing department leadership and high-quality teaching across the Geography curriculum.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Geography Teacher with leadership experience—or strong departmental responsibility—to take on a focused, impactful role for the spring term.
Leading the Geography department and supporting curriculum planning
Delivering engaging and challenging Geography lessons at KS3 and KS4
Monitoring pupil progress and providing targeted support
Ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the department
Working closely with SLT and contributing to the wider school environment
Upholding the school’s behaviour and safeguarding expectations
Qualified Geography Teacher (QTS required)
Experience leading a department or holding TLR/subject leadership responsibilities
Strong classroom and behaviour management
Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
A proactive, organised and professional approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
All qualified Geography specialists with relevant experience will be considered.
