Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Are you a confident and capable HLTA ready to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting?

We’re working with a range of incredible schools and alternative provisions across Birmingham that are looking for experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support their pupils with additional needs.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting teaching and learning in class, small groups, or 1:1

• Delivering planned interventions and occasionally covering lessons

• Working closely with SENCOs, teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support

• Promoting engagement, independence, and emotional regulation

• Being a consistent, positive adult presence in the lives of children who need it most

 What we’re looking for:

• HLTA status or equivalent experience in a similar role

• Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs

• Confident leading small groups or covering lessons when required

• Calm, reliable, and proactive with excellent communication skills

• Team players who aren’t afraid to get stuck in and build strong relationships
