First for Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated History Teacher to join one of our fantastic partner schools from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire young minds and help students explore the events, people and ideas that have shaped the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Encourage students to think critically, debate and understand diverse perspectives
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons where needed
  • Create an inclusive, safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
  • Uphold high standards in behaviour and safeguarding at all times

What We’re Looking For:

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • Recent experience teaching History in a UK secondary setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for historical education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and student development
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two professional references covering the last 2 years

Location Flexibility:

In addition to Birmingham, we have History teaching vacancies in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, and Walsall. If this particular role isn’t the right fit, we’ll help find one that is.
