First for Education are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Shirley from January 2026.
This is an exciting long-term opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons across the History curriculum at KS3 and KS4. The school is supportive, well-led, and committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Delivering high-quality History lessons at KS3–KS4
Creating engaging schemes of work and lesson plans
Assessing, marking and tracking student progress
Encouraging critical thinking and strong subject engagement
Managing behaviour confidently in line with school policies
Contributing to department planning and wider school initiatives
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Strong subject knowledge in History
Recent UK secondary school teaching experience
Confident behaviour management and communication skills
A proactive, committed and professional approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
