Location: Shirley, Solihull
Salary: £150 – £280 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term
Start Date: January 2026

First for Education are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Shirley from January 2026.

This is an exciting long-term opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons across the History curriculum at KS3 and KS4. The school is supportive, well-led, and committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.


The Role

  • Delivering high-quality History lessons at KS3–KS4

  • Creating engaging schemes of work and lesson plans

  • Assessing, marking and tracking student progress

  • Encouraging critical thinking and strong subject engagement

  • Managing behaviour confidently in line with school policies

  • Contributing to department planning and wider school initiatives


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Strong subject knowledge in History

  • Recent UK secondary school teaching experience

  • Confident behaviour management and communication skills

  • A proactive, committed and professional approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
