Salary: £150 – £280 per day (depending on experience)

First for Education are working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school to recruit passionate and versatile Humanities Teachers who can teach across a range of humanities subjects — including History, Geography, Religious Education (RE), and Social Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher who enjoys inspiring students to explore the world around them, understand diverse cultures, and think critically about society and history.


The Role

As a Humanities Teacher, you will:

  • Teach across various humanities disciplines such as History, Geography, and Religious Education (depending on your specialism and school needs)

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that encourage analytical thinking and debate

  • Support students’ development of key humanities skills — research, evaluation, and interpretation

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and cross-departmental collaboration

  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and promote a love for learning


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards qualification

  • Strong subject knowledge across the humanities disciplines

  • The ability to teach multiple humanities subjects confidently

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
