What we’re looking for

To be a successful KS2 Teacher, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or PGCE)

  • A genuine enthusiasm for education and helping pupils thrive specifically across Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6)

  • Strong classroom management, organisational and communication skills

  • Punctuality, reliability, and a professional approach to supporting pupils and colleagues

  • An Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply – we can help with the process)

  • Two recent and supportive professional references

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). What matters most is your ability to engage KS2 pupils, deliver inspiring lessons, and maintain the highest safeguarding standards.

The role

As a KS2 Primary Teacher with First for Education you will:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured KS2 lessons in line with the National Curriculum, adapting to pupils’ individual needs

  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for pupils in Years 3 to 6

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and school leadership teams

  • Support children with SEND and EAL where needed, ensuring all KS2 pupils can access learning

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement, helping every child reach their potential

  • Adapt quickly to new schools and year groups, using your initiative and professionalism to provide seamless classroom cover

Whether you are building confidence in lower KS2 literacy, delivering engaging upper KS2 foundation subjects, or preparing Year 6 pupils for SATs, your role will be to inspire resilience, curiosity, and a love of learning in every classroom you step into.
