Location: Sandwell (multiple school sites)
Salary: £12.21 – £13.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

First for Education are recruiting reliable and hardworking School Cleaners to work across a number of primary and secondary schools in the Sandwell area, starting January 2026.

These roles are ideal for individuals with experience in cleaning, facilities support or site maintenance, and who can work independently to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic school environment.

Multiple shifts and placements are available depending on school needs.

The Role

• Ensuring classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas are cleaned to high standards

• Using cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH guidance

• Emptying bins, wiping surfaces, hoovering, mopping and replenishing supplies

• Following school-specific cleaning schedules and checklists

• Maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the school day

• Reporting any issues to site staff or supervisors

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in cleaning or a similar role (school experience desirable)

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic

• Ability to work independently and follow clear cleaning routines

• Reliability and good timekeeping

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to pay for a new check

• Flexibility to work before or after school hours depending on placement
