School Cleaner – Yardley Wood, Birmingham

Location: Yardley Wood, Birmingham
Pay Rate: £12.50 – £14.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Part-time / Term-time (hours to be confirmed)
Start Date: January 2026


Support a Clean, Safe Learning Environment

First for Education are recruiting a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to work within a secondary school in the Yardley Wood area of Birmingham from January 2026.

This is a vital role within the school, helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.


The Role

  • General cleaning of classrooms, corridors and communal areas

  • Cleaning washrooms and replenishing supplies

  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely

  • Following health and safety procedures at all times

  • Using cleaning equipment and products correctly

  • Supporting the school in maintaining a clean and orderly site


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial settings preferred)

  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
