Location: Five Ways, Birmingham
Salary: £150 – £280 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term
Start Date: January 2026


Inspire Students in a High-Performing Birmingham Secondary School

First for Education are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a secondary school in the Five Ways area of Birmingham from January 2026.

The school is well-resourced, supportive, and committed to raising achievement across the Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident teacher who can deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4.


The Role

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons

  • Teaching across KS3 and KS4 (specialism welcomed)

  • Assessing, marking, and tracking pupil progress

  • Managing behaviour confidently in line with school policies

  • Creating an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment

  • Contributing to departmental planning and wider school life


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Recent experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management ability

  • A proactive, organised and professional approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
