First for Education is recruiting reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in a variety of secondary schools across East Birmingham. We have opportunities ranging from flexible day-to-day supply to long-term placements.

This role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training, experienced teaching assistants ready for a step up, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone confident in managing groups of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and productive environment
• Support students to complete assigned work and stay on task
• Follow school policies and procedures, reporting any concerns as needed
• Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with young people (essential) – e.g. in schools, coaching, youth work or similar
• Strong behaviour management skills and a confident classroom presence
• Reliability, enthusiasm, and flexibility
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Two recent, relevant references
