First for Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in one of our partner schools in Kings Norton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in their learning journey, working closely with teaching staff to help create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
This role is perfect for someone who has experience supporting students in a school setting or a background working with young people, and who is passionate about helping them achieve their full potential.
Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities
Working with individuals and small groups to support learning
Assisting with classroom management and behaviour strategies
Preparing resources and helping with lesson organisation
Providing tailored support to students with additional needs
Encouraging and motivating pupils to stay engaged in their learning
Previous experience in a teaching assistant or school support role (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional references covering the last two years
