To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or recent classroom experience.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
The ability to work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Patience, empathy and confidence when supporting pupils with SEND and EAL needs.
Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
Punctuality, reliability and a professional approach to every placement.
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply – we can help with this).
Two recent professional references.

As a Teaching Assistant with First for Education, you will:
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities that meet all pupils’ needs.
Provide 1:1 or small-group support, especially for children with additional learning, behavioural or emotional needs.
Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and displays.
Encourage and motivate pupils to participate, stay focused and reach their learning goals.
Foster positive relationships and act as a trusted, consistent presence for pupils.
Help implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and behaviour strategies under the guidance of class teachers or the SENCO.
Supervise children during lessons, playtime or lunchtimes, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
Whether you’re supporting phonics in Year 1, guided reading in Year 3, or 1:1 SEND support in KS2, your role is essential in helping every child feel confident, valued and capable of success.
