Here we give you one of the most popular TED talks of all time delivered by the witty Ken Robinson. Importantly, he makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.
Liverpool born Ken Robinson, moved to Los Angeles to become a key advisor to the John Paul Getty Institute. You may not know how strongly he felt on ideas of how to engage children. Furthermore, his ideas on engagement he felt were key to a successful education. The key ideas he had were based on a diverse curriculum, individualisation on how children learn and a creative approach to learning.
Did you know that Robinson gave three Ted Talks on creativity in education? Altogether they received over over 80 million views and is still growing. Unbelievably, his “Do schools kill creativity?” was the most watched TED talk of all time. Did you know that it had 66.3 million views on the TED channel and millions more on YouTube. You may be unaware that it has been translated into 62 languages.
Sadly Ken Robinson died in 2020 but I am sure you will agree that he left a powerful legacy behind him on education. He continues to reach many people world wide.
