Cover Supervisor

Are you passionate about education and looking to make a difference in local schools?
First For Education (FFE) is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and confident Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the West Midlands.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and engaged with pre-prepared work. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, teaching assistants, or individuals considering a career in teaching who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-set lessons and maintain a positive learning environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Support students to stay focused and complete the work provided.

  • Liaise with teaching staff and report back on student progress and behaviour.

  • Contribute to the wider school community with professionalism and enthusiasm.

 

About You

  • Confident and adaptable with strong classroom management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • A passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their best.

  • Previous experience in education, youth work, or mentoring is desirable but not essential.

  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
