How to encourage and improve writing within Primary schools.

Did you know that today is national writing day? Importantly, we celebrate it nationally in schools to encourage more writing. Firstly, we all know how much the pandemic has affected lost learning for children. However, recent research suggests a lot more needs to be done to improve writing within primary schools.
Surprisingly, you may be unaware that according to a DfE paper, writing is the subject with the worst performance compared to other subjects. So in other words, writing performance is worse when compared with reading, maths, and science at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
