Are you an experienced and qualified Science Technician looking for your next role in a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school?
First for Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Alum Rock to recruit a skilled and safety-conscious Science Technician to join their successful Science Department.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organised individual who thrives in a laboratory setting and enjoys supporting both teachers and students in delivering high-quality science education.
As a Science Technician, you will:
Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons
Ensure all practical experiments are conducted safely and efficiently
Support teachers in setting up and demonstrating experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Maintain laboratory records, stock control, and order resources as required
Uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety compliance across the department
Please note: Applicants without the following will not be considered for this role.
Current Health & Safety (H&S) training
Valid CLEAPSS certification
Experience working as a Science Technician within a school laboratory environment
Excellent organisational and communication skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
