Are you an experienced and qualified Science Technician looking for your next role in a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school?

First for Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Alum Rock to recruit a skilled and safety-conscious Science Technician to join their successful Science Department.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and organised individual who thrives in a laboratory setting and enjoys supporting both teachers and students in delivering high-quality science education.


The Role

As a Science Technician, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons

  • Ensure all practical experiments are conducted safely and efficiently

  • Support teachers in setting up and demonstrating experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

  • Maintain laboratory records, stock control, and order resources as required

  • Uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety compliance across the department


Essential Requirements

Please note: Applicants without the following will not be considered for this role.

  • Current Health & Safety (H&S) training

  • Valid CLEAPSS certification

  • Experience working as a Science Technician within a school laboratory environment

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
