SEND Teaching Assistant

First For Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEND provision who are in need of two SEND Teaching Assistants to support them for the remainder of the academic year at the minimum.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting across the whole class and there will be times where you will be working 1:1 or in group work with some students and ensuring that all students are engaged and on task.

Other duties as a Teaching Assistant include:

• Set up and tidy classrooms for lessons.
• Work with students to make sure they understand and are able to reach the learning objectives.
• Watch, record and report the progress students make.
• Look after children who are upset or unwell.
• Lead classes with help from the teacher.

The successful candidates will:

• Have a passion to work with young people.
• Have previous experience working with children with SEND.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to work well as part of a team but also individually.
• Have strong behaviour management skills.
