School Cleaner in Smethwick

First for Education is currently seeking an School Cleaner in Smethwick.  This role is a interim position with an immediate start until the end of the academic year.

What they are looking for:

You will need to have good punctuality and good personal organisational skills.

• Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours.
• 2x references
• Ideally experienced in a school setting, though not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
• Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
• Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team and able to work with minimum supervision.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Vacuuming/cleaning floors.
• Spot cleaning of spillages.
• Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.
• Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).
• Cleaning toilets
• Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
• Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.
• Undertake deep clean as and when required.
• Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.
